#MultipleSclerosis This patient is all ready seeing amazing results with her symptoms and it's only been a few weeks. Here is a typical finding we see with Functional Testing we do at our office. Alpha Lipoic Acid, B Vitamins, and Vitamin D have been shown in many cases to be deficient in people who have MS.
Multiple Sclerosis is a very damaging disease. There is not much known about what causes it, or what kicks off an episode. But we do know that there is damage that occurs in the covering of the nerves (which are made of fat). This damage results in interference of nerve impulses which causes things such as: numbness/tingling, muscle weakness, and other neurological conditions.
Did you know that MS is more common in people that live in Northern Latitudes and uncommon in people that live near the equator? Did you know that low vitamin D levels have been shown to be prevalent in people with MS? If you don’t know what your Vitamin D levels are, you should have them checked quickly. Optimum levels are 60-100.
Another suggestion I recommend to my patients is getting their fatty acids tested. As stated before, your nerves are surrounded by fat. So it would just make sense to find out if you have sufficient quantities of good fats and low levels of bad fats. But you also need to know if you have the cofactors/coenzymes to actually absorb those fats. Did you know that you need sufficient quantities of CoQ10 to metabolize fats in your body? We test for that! :) Of course you want to stay away from bad fats such as: vegetable oils, margarine, hydrogenated oils, trans-fatty acids, and of course fried foods.
Other suggestions I recommend are: take a GOOD probiotic, HIIT exercise (if tolerable), Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Eat Ginger and Turmeric, among many other things. It all depends on the case and results of the testing.
If you think you would like to get customized, functional testing done, call our office. A lot of insurance companies are starting to pay for some of these tests. What once was a $2000 test can now be $150. Believe me, it would be the best money spent for the type of information you get from this testing. Give us a call, you won’t be disappointed. #customizedtesting #customizedresults
